The Learning Sanctuary is a UK based provider of qualifications and master classes for everyone involved in learning and training, from those about to deliver a training session for the first time all the way through to senior executives responsible for directing the overall effectiveness of learning in an organisation.

The Learning Sanctuary was conceived by Neville Pritchard, formerly Director of Learning at Barclays Plc and Head of Group Training and Management Development at Abbey National. In both of these roles, and also as Chairman of the Financial Services Sector Skills Council  & UK President of ASTD, Neville had become increasingly frustrated  at the lack of formal, relevant, practical and cost effective qualifications and career development available to those within the learning & training profession.

His vision was to create a suite of internationally recognised qualifications that will help learning professionals develop not only their skills, but also their careers.

Whether you are a specialist training deliverer or designer, a learning consultant, a learning & development manager or even a learning executive it has been very difficult to find learning to complement your career pathway - that is of course up until now!

Working exclusively and in partnership with ITOL (Institute of Training and Occupational Learning), The Learning Sanctuary will provide a range of accredited qualifications to suit YOU. Our programmes are designed for:

  • Those who have to train people periodically, but are not full time trainers.
  • Individuals who want to progress into a career within learning and training
  • Those who have just joined a training team or training consultancy.
  • Self employed training consultants or those part of a small training consultancy
  • Individuals who want to progress into a specialist deliverer and facilitator role.
  • Individuals who want to progress to being a specialist designer and consultant.
  • Aspiring training and learning managers.
  • Newly appointed learning and training managers
  • Learning & development managers who want to progress into Heads of Organisational Learning
  • Independent learning consultants who want to operate at a more strategic level
  • Learning executives via the Executive Learning Sanctuary.

We have assembled a small team of learning experts with a wealth of experience of organisational learning and development up to the most senior levels, to design and deliver our programmes.  In this way we can ensure that the qualifications we offer provide a valuable,  realistic, hands on learning experience  delivered by people who understand by having first hand experience of the above roles

All of the accredited programmes comprise a mixture of distance learning, tutor led practical workshops, self directed learning, peer collaboration and formal assessments.

They are delivered in a number of high quality venues across the UK and internationally and are provided at a range of accredited levels, from a Foundation Certificate for new and infrequent trainers through  to an Advanced Diploma in Learning Management, for senior learning managers/specialists.

In addition to the accredited programmes, a number of specialist workshops are also available covering subjects such as evaluation, learning strategy and investigative interviewing. Over and above these, The Executive Learning Sanctuary provides peer group master classes, conferences, leading edge research and networking opportunities for Learning Executives.

Additional input will be available from well known experts from industry and sport.

The Learning Sanctuary programmes will:

  • Offer a formal qualification and development path for learning professionals
  • Provide learners with practical knowledge to use in their day to day roles.
  • Improve the quality and capability of learning professionals
  • Improve learning management processes
  • Contribute to a robust people and learning management strategy
